Carrie Rufkahr is an insurance specialist focusing on advanced planning concepts and employee benefits. This includes income replacement, long term care, legacy planning, deferred compensation, buy sell arrangements, key man policies and estate equalization.
Carrie began her insurance career while attending The University of Missouri – Columbia. While majoring in corporate finance she felt a draw to the personal side of finance. She graduated from Mizzou with a degree in Consumer and Family Economics with an emphasis in Personal Financial Management.
Upon graduating in 2000, Carrie accepted a position as an employee benefits Sales Executive. She began working closely with brokers specializing in small to large size groups. Having grown up in a family business, Carrie had a unique understanding of the goals and challenges business owners face. She realized her skills and knowledge base would be better utilized as a broker representing these clients.
Carrie started her employee benefits practice in 2003. Since then, she has developed strong relationships with her client base. With the introduction of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, her attention to detail and compliance enabled her to strengthen her client relationships while increasing her client base. She has earned a trusted reputation as a leader in developing employee benefit programs and compliance management in addition to realizing significant cost savings for her clients.
As Carrie has continued to work with her business owner clients, she saw a need for additional forms of planning including retirement, key executive compensation and long term care planning. In 2015 Carrie began focusing on Advanced Planning concepts including deferred compensation, buy sell arrangements and key man policies with GenFinity. In 2018 Carrie sold her employee benefits practice to focus solely on life insurance planning.
Carrie has called Washington Missouri home since 2003. She is married to Matt Rufkahr. They have two BUSY children, Faith and Grace. Carrie is a member of the Rotary Club, the marketing committee at Our Lady of Lourdes School, Beta Sigma Phi (Service Sorority) and other professional organizations. She has been a featured speaker for various organizations on the topic of Health Care Reform and empowerment. In her spare time she enjoys running (finally running her first full marathon in 2019!), working out, reading and spending time with her family at the Lake.
